A few things you should know about membership in the
The SCAA encourages appreciation, growth, and support of the visual arts and the artists, craftspeople, and enthusiasts in Sauk County.
  • GRANTS of $600 are given to two of the five high school art departments in Sauk County each year on a rotating basis. Two $400 scholarships are awarded to UW- Baraboo/Sauk County students in the visual arts.
  • CULTURAL EVENTS:  SCAA also supports many other arts events and organizations in the county including, but not limited to:
    • Baraboo Public Art Association
    • Cool Boo winter open studios
    • Fermentation Fest and the FarmArt D-Tour
    • The Fall Art Tour
  • ANNUAL ART SHOWS:  SCAA hosts three arts shows described in detail in the "Our Shows" section of this site.
    • MEMBERSHIP SHOW- Early each year, the members of the SCAA welcome the public to a themed exhibition of their work. This is a fun event for MEMBERS ONLY and doubles as a membership drive inviting all interested artists and enthusiasts to join and exhibit.
    • Encore!!Art Reuse, Recycle, Rethink- This annual event currently is held at the Rock Springs Community Center at the Earth Day Celebration, usually in April. It is open to students and artists, both aspiring and professional, using "castoff material". The art is judged and monetary prizes are awarded.
    • ArtJune A Fine Arts Festival- a new name and time. This annual event takes place the third Saturday in June on the lawn of the Sauk County Courthouse. Artists from near and far are invited to this juried show. Monetary prizes are awarded.
  • SCAA supports artists by purchasing artwork and displaying it in the West Square Building in downtown Baraboo. Be sure and check out the art.
  • GET INVOLVED! VOLUNTEER! We can use your talents. Let us know how you would like to help; email, phone, or add a note to your membership form.
  • GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS:  A monthly educational program and business meeting on the 4th Tuesday, 7 p.m. in West Square Building unless notified otherwise. Open to the public.
